Where the will is

In the life file you note where the will is, if there is a will. The name of the notary, the place of the office and the year of the deed are enough to begin. If the original or a copy is in a folder at home, you name that folder. If it is only with the notary, the office is where it can be found. You do not have to retype the deed to make it findable. Someone who has the name and the year can call the office and ask whether a deed of yours is there. Add a telephone number if you have it to hand, and replace it if the office moves or gets a different number.

Do not copy the contents into an open note if you do not want every invited reader to read the division. The file shares what you switch on. A full transcription of the deed is then visible to that circle, even if you only wanted to give a place where it can be found. If you do want the contents at hand for yourself, keep them outside the shared layer, or share them only with the person who may see them. For most files the sentence that there is a will, with this notary, from this year, is enough. If there is no will, write that too, or leave the line open for as long as you are not sure. An invented deed is worse than an empty field.

The life file records where the papers are and who may read them. It appoints no heir and no executor. That appointment belongs in the notarial will itself. A sentence in this file that says a child gets the house is a wish or a memory, not the deed. Ervazo stores your answer and does not send it to the notary. You remove the old year line, so that there do not seem to be two deeds where there is one.

It is not the deed and it does not replace it. A codicil has its own, strictly handwritten form and is not this place where it can be found either. Until that deed has been read, what it says stays outside this file, unless you have deliberately shared part of it with one reader.
