The valuation instruction is not yet a value
When you instruct a valuer, you record three things: the question, the date and the object. The question is what you want to know, for example the value on the date of death or the current value, and of which asset. The date is the day of the instruction, not the day on which you hope for the answer. The object is the house, the household contents or the other asset, with a description that distinguishes it from the rest of the estate inventory. Without those three, an email to a valuer is a loose message. With those three it is a line in the file. The instruction itself is not yet a value. The amount field stays empty. An expectation in the email does not become a figure on the estate inventory item.
A guess by the family or a round amount from an advertisement may exist as an internal note, with the words that it is a guess. It does not fill the value. Once the report has come in, that report replaces the guess. You put the value from the report on the field the instruction named: date of death or current value. You write the date of the report and the name of the valuer with it. You take the guess out of the amount or you mark it as replaced, so that no one later reads it as a source. Two fields remain two fields. A report on the current value does not quietly overwrite the value on the date of death. If you asked for both, both answers belong separately, each with a source.
You keep the instruction with the object, even after the report is there. That way it is visible which question was asked. A report that answers a different question does not fill the field. Send it back as a task: the question was the date of death, the document names something else. Do not share a value in the portal before the report stands on the right line. The amounts layer stays off for this object for as long as there is only an instruction. Heirs who see a figure cannot tell the instruction from the outcome. Staff see in the workspace the instruction, the empty value and the internal guess apart. The guess does not follow to a layer. A letter that names a value before the report is there stays a draft.
Ervazo stores the instruction with question, date and object, and afterwards the report as the source of the value. Ervazo records and calculates as a worksheet. It invents no valuation and it does not take the instruction email as an amount. That is not advice. It files nothing and it pays nothing. The program does not instruct the valuer and it does not pay an instruction. The staff member links the report to the field that belongs with the question. Until that report is there, the amount stays empty. The worksheet does not calculate with a guess as if it were a decision. The value in the estate inventory is the report, or it is open. A third state ought not to stand there.
