Choosing a funeral director already
If you already choose a funeral director, you put the name of the firm and a telephone number in the life file. With that you note whether anything has already been paid: yes or no. If it is yes, you write where the proof of payment or the contract is, not a remaining amount that you calculate. If it is no, then no is enough. A policy for the funeral you name with the policies, and here only as a reference to that line, so that amounts do not enter this wish twice and are not invented. The family does not have to compare three firms on the day itself if the name is there. If there is no name, write that the choice is still open. You do not fill in a firm because it sounds well known in the neighbourhood.
The choice in this file is a wish and a practical trace. It is not an instruction the family must carry out in all circumstances, and you do not promise that the wish is enforceable. Funeral wishes bind only if a valid will or a valid codicil truly covers them, and even then only within the limits of the law. This note is not that will. A codicil has its own, strictly handwritten form. A typed name of a funeral director is not that form. If the wish is in such a deed, you note where that deed can be found, and you do not repeat that the family can force someone. That would be a promise you do not make good with this page.
Whether something has been paid is a fact about a paper, not a price for the day itself. Do not invent a package price or a comparison with other firms. The invoice, if it comes later, is a different document from this wish. Ervazo stores the name and the yes or no. The program does not send them to the funeral director and not to a notary. If your choice changes, you replace the name and you remove the old one. A funeral director who has stopped is no help on the day. Once a year you check whether the number is still right and whether the contract paper is still in the folder you named. An open choice you leave open. That is clearer than a hesitant favourite without a telephone number.
A life file is a note for later. It is not a will, not a medical instruction and not advice. The name of the funeral director helps the family so they do not have to compare on the day. It does not force the funeral and it appoints no heir or executor. That appointment belongs in a notarial will. A codicil has its own, strictly handwritten form and is not this name. Ervazo does not send the note to a doctor or a notary. Yes or no about a payment points to a paper. An amount you hope for, you do not write down.
