Children from more than one relationship
Name every child in the life file. A child from this relationship and a child from an earlier relationship both go on the list, with their own name. A year of birth may be added if that helps to tell people apart, as a fact from a paper you have, not as a ranking. You add a telephone number if you have it and if you want it to be possible to call. If a child does not live with you, the name still belongs on it. The file describes who your children are. It does not describe who eats in the house today. A child you rarely see remains a line. You do not leave that line out because the day-to-day care lies with the other parent.
A life file that names only the children in the house is how a later record starts off wrong. Someone who takes over the file sees a few names and thinks that is all there is. The child who is missing is then also missing from the first list of the administration. That is a gap you can prevent now by writing the name. Do not put an order of preference and no caption about who is closer to you. Such sentences are gossip in a list that should contain facts. You can name the other parent if that helps to place the child, with a name, without a judgement of that person. A quarrel does not belong in this line. The child's name is the core.
This list does not point out heirs. Who inherits follows later from a will or from the law, outside this note, with the notary if there is a deed or if the family needs the notary. A child you name does not thereby become an heir, and a child you might forget does not stop being a child. The file only helps so that no one is left out of the story by accident. It appoints no executor. Do not write that the house goes to the children who live with you. That is a division, and a division does not belong in this field. Ervazo stores the names you enter and does not send them to a notary. Go through the list at a birth, a death or a change of name.
A life file is a note for later. It is not a will, not a medical instruction and not advice. The names of the children are a fact for the file. They allocate nothing and they exclude no one. You do not appoint an heir or an executor here. That belongs in a notarial will. A codicil has its own, strictly handwritten form and a list of names is not that form. Ervazo does not send the note to a doctor or a notary. Only the children in the house is an incomplete list. Each child their own line, without a story, keeps the record straight from the start.
