An inheritance in the joint account
An inherited amount paid into a joint account mixes with what was already there. After that the balance no longer shows which part came from the inheritance. Keep the bank evidence of the credit for that reason: the date, the account and the description. Also keep the evidence of origin, such as the payment out of the estate. Without those documents only a balance remains, and a balance does not tell the origin. In the file that evidence goes with the entry, not into a loose folder without a link. Ervazo does not derive a private share from a closing balance.
A mixed amount is hard to follow. Withdrawals, fixed costs and new deposits run through one another. You do not reconstruct that by splitting the current balance into a neat half. Note the question: can the origin still be proved, and which document shows the deposit. The answer is not an amount you think up yourself. If the origin can no longer be proved, you write that the tracing has stopped, with the documents you do have. An assumption that it surely stayed private does not belong in the field. An assumption that everything has become joint does not belong there either.
Through mixing, if the origin can be proved, no more than a right of reimbursement (vergoedingsrecht) may remain. That is a question, not an entry with an invented size. You do not book a reimbursement because it sounds logical that the heir gets something back. You also do not book a reimbursement because the partner now uses the balance. Put an open point: right of reimbursement, origin still to be assessed, evidence attached or still to be found. The notary assesses whether such a right exists. Ervazo does not fill in the right and attaches no amount to it that stands on no document.
Keep the bank evidence, the description and the question together. An image without a date or without an account number is a weak trail, not completed proof. Request the bank statements for the month of the deposit if you do not yet have them, and record that you have requested them. Ervazo creates no right of reimbursement and gives no advice about the account.
