A gift of the body to science follows the paper
A wish to give the body to science was recorded during life. After the death you follow the paper and the institution, not a family meeting that revises the wish. In the file you record that the wish exists, which institution is named on it, and where the paper lies. The institution has its own acceptance. Not every wish is carried out merely because it was written down. This piece does not invent when an institution accepts, and not which medical requirement goes with that. You ask the institution what the paper means for this death, and you take the answer over. You do not write a summary of the rules of your own beside it.
That wish can change the funeral plan. If the body goes to the institution, a burial or a cremation is not automatically the step the family had already discussed. Note what the institution says about the moment of collection, and about what is still possible afterwards for a farewell, in its own words. The funeral director receives that same text, so that two plans do not run side by side. If the institution refuses the wish, you note the refusal and the file falls back on the funeral wish that can still be carried out. That fallback is not a new wish you invent yourself. It is the plan that already stood in the life file or with the director, insofar as the institution does not carry out the wish to give the body to science.
The institution's paper belongs with the documents, with the date and the name of the institution. A loose sentence in the life file without that paper is a pointer to go and look, not proof that the institution will accept. Find the paper before the funeral is fixed. Ervazo keeps the paper and, if you write to the institution, the letter and the reply. It does not send them. Put the outcome on the funeral task, so a reader sees whether the plan has been changed. Medical details that the institution does not consider necessary for the relatives do not belong in an open note. The core is accepted, refused, or still unanswered.
The wish to give the body to science follows the paper and acceptance by the institution. The family does not vote on it again. The file keeps the paper and the consequences for the funeral plan. Medical rules are not invented alongside them here. This is not legal advice. Whether the institution accepts the body, and what that means for the farewell, is confirmed by that institution. The funeral director confirms the plan that remains after that. Whether a will contains the same wish is confirmed by the notary. The municipality confirms the declaration of death, not acceptance by the institution.
